Economic Self-Reliance
The African Freedom Fund Treasury sponsored an Economics
for Self-Reliance Conference on December 4, 1994. One of the resolutions
of the conference was to make the information available to those not present.
Listed below are 15 important points that we feel will benefit the individual
and the collective and move us closer to "Economics for Self-Reliance".

The key to financial independence is proper planning and a positive attitude.

Continue to buy Black all year round.

Develop a budget - begin to be in control of your money and expect to suceed.

Do not misuse credit cards, they lead to economic slavery. Work toward
being debt free.

Collective buying - keep money circulating among us as much as possible.

Pay yourself first, put something away each pay.

Build trust among the collective.

Work toward business ownership and owning real estate. Employ and
train each other. Strive for collective entrepreneurship.

Sharpen your skills in business relations.

Teach our children about business, checkbooks, banking, money matters,
etc.

Develop strong accountable leadership for collective advancement.

Business owners must provide the best quality goods and services.

Develop sound tax shelters.

Begin to support agriculture development.

Develop a strong spiritual (cultural), economic and political base.
