In honor of our tenth year milestone we will be launching our First Annual OBS Griot Awards (so named for the African griot storytelling tradition).The 1998 OBS Griot Awards will honor the exemplary contributions of nine black writers whose groundbreaking work over the last decade has paved the way for the next generation of black writers. Annually, the OBS Griot Award will recognize one writer in the area of the television and one in the area of film.
