Gordon Parks Tribute

African Voices is honoring Gordon Parks...this elder has done it all...photography, filmmaking, poetry, composing music, etc.Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, 5:30 pm-8 pm, National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park (Nr. 20 St & Park Ave. So.)

African Voices in association with The National Arts Club will host an exclusive cocktail reception celebrating legendary Life magazine photographer Gordon Parks. Mr. Parks will be honored for his lifetime contributions to the arts.

• The NY Boys Choir and pianist Loston Harris, member of N2K Encoded Music, will give a tribute performance.
• African Voices poetry editor Layding Kaliba will recite "Choice of Eyes," a poem dedicated to Mr. Parks' visionary genius.
• Mr. Parks will be available to sign copies of his latest book "Half Past Autumn."
