Internet World ends its experiment of selling baseball
books after logging $201.15 in sales
By Andrew Marlatt amarlatt@iw.com
For two months Internet World, with the help of New Jersey-based bookseller The Scholar's Bookshelf, built and ran commerce-enabled baseball book stores through iCO and Yahoo Store. In that time, as detailed in the three previous stories in this series, we uploaded our inventory and images, sorted through layout and design options, and typed in company history, and legal palaver. We registered with search engines, bought banner ads, linked to similar sites, and re-registered with engines that had seemingly ignored us. And all along we watched as traffic grew--first a drip, then some drops, and finally a raging trickle.
